Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow. ~Melody Beattie
As we celebrate the Holiday we can give thanks to have survived the recent storm and all of those whom helped us get back to "normal". Friends took in friends, broke bread and shared generators during Sandy. The Library was fortunate to have power and opened as a charging station for those without. During the two weeks many of us waited for power, the Library was routinely packed with residents using every outlet and chair while accessing the internet and enjoying a coffee and cookies. At the start, the Library supplied the coffee and treats, but then in true community spirit, residents and businesses donated to the coffee fund and shared their own treats too.
The Roxbury Town Council wants to celebrate the outstanding community spirit that shone through during the storm. On Saturday December 8th there will be a ceremony: Honoring Those Who Lent a Hand. If you know someone you want to nominate emaildidomenicos@roxburynj.us or call 973-448-2016 by November 28th.
The Friends of the Roxbury Library Board want to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.
